In a nutshell...

This is the life and times of a random faceless army wife trying to get by in a dull army life. Well mostly dull.

Hub man is all better! Hurray! Now I don't have to take care of him! Double hurray! However tonight is going to be filled with baking! :D I'm making hub man some brownies, and I'm making some bear claws for a frg breakfast tomorrow. This is going to be a long but fun night. Anywho, I have baking to do.

Drama

So I was doing my daily creep on the AWDIWH page on facebook. For the most part, I love this page. You can get advice from other army wives. Which me being a total noob, talking to a more experienced army wife makes me feel better. Don't let the title of this post trick you into thinking the page is nothing but drama. I just have mad drama finding skills.

Anywho, someone was asking what to do because her friend thinks the girl next door is having an affair while her hub man is over seas. After browsing through the comments I found that most women had the same thing to say. Mind your own business. There were a couple people who fanned the flames of drama. Which makes sense. For every one girl out there that hates drama, there are 5 that live off of drama. My step-sister is one of them. But I digress. This girl in question lives on post. I live on post. It just makes me wonder. Are my neighbors really ignoring me? Or are they spying on me in some weird need to find more drama? It's bad enough that word got around I had a kid. (That's a story for a different day.) Then again, they can't find drama around me. I'm rather boring. I stay inside with my cats. I only go out to sit on my back porch and to get the mail. What's the worse they could say? That I'm a crazy cat lady? Psh. I had worse things said about me in high school.

Although in hind sight, I read the drama, and think what stupid needless drama. Then turn around and come back the next day to read some more. Maybe I'm as bad as the drama addicts.

Home Alone

Hub man has cq *charge of quarters* so I have the apartment to myself. So I've been watching reruns of How I Met Your Mother. That and I've been watching my two cats bond. It makes me smile. Maybe Riri can help db find things. -side note- I don't hide my cat's food from her. She just isn't that bright, but that might be why I love her.-
Anyway... It was another rainy day at Drum. So I've been sleepy. That and I've been doing everything in my power not to catch my hub man's cold. He's been sickish the all week. Well as much as I'd love to sit here: 1) I really should clean and 2) I ran out of things to say, and I figure not even fictional readers want to hear me rant.

But before I go here's a picture of my other cat Riri. She 10 months old, and db is only 6 weeks old. Just a random fun fact...

Sooo

Have you ever had an awesome idea to write about, but due to things beyond your control *or stumbling too much* you forgot it by the time you started to write. Yeah, that never happens to me. I do however start to write it and then forget half way what the point was and start ranting. For example: I'm now on my third attempt at this post.

I thought today I would tell you a funny story from my past. That way our bond becomes stronger and blah blah blah. It's Wednesday, and we are half way through the week. So I thought a good laugh would help us get to the weekend.  Plus I think everyone should be able to laugh at themselves.

This one time when I was playing dnd (dungeons and drangons for those who don't know). Stop laughing, that wasn't the funny part. Like I was saying, this one time I was playing dnd and I was a ranger. Ha! I know me a ranger. Oh wait you didn't know I normally play as a rouge. Right, Ranger. Things were going great, and we by some means I can no longer remember were all granted one wish. People got weapons, magical items, and other nice shiny things. I had everything my character need, but I wanted an animal companion. I could have got a wolf, tiger, dragon, or any other awesome sounding animal. What did I wish for? A cat. (That's the funny part. You can laugh now.) I was told I couldn't have a cat, but I could have this! Which is way cooler then a normal cat. Sadly, the main villain of the campaign turned my kitteh against me and I had to chop it's head off. Sad day.

Now that I think about it this really isn't that funny. Even by nerd standards. So here's a new story. My friend had found some alchemic solutions and wanted to test them out. (yes it's more dnd) So he killed a squirrel and then poured said solutions on it. A few second later it came to life and proceded to beat the hell out of him. The cute little zombie squirrel managed to break a few ribs and puncher a lung. Moral of the story? Squirrels are bad asses.

db

Today has been an interesting day. How so? Our newest edition to our family unit db is one of the neediest kittens I have even known.

She seems to need someone near her at all times to approve of everything she does. I think she just likes the praise she gets when she does things right.

Hub man: "You found your food!" db: "love me!" Hub man: "ok"
Well that's the main one. She loses her food a lot. Don't judge, it's hard to think of stuff on the spot.

But today has consisted of:

  • Wake up when hub man goes to pt - db lays down on me and goes to sleep
  • Sleep with db
  • Wake up for real this time - db stirs enough to notice I want up then goes back to sleep
  • Play on my phone until to hungry to stay in bed - move db to a pillow
  • Make some food - db cries about losing her food again
  • Check my email - db whines until I pick her up
  • Move on to facebook - db falls asleep and now my left arm is useless
  • Random Computer stuff  - db wakes and play with tiger, finds her food, and then settles down for another nap on my arm

It hasn't been a very productive day, but at least db had a nice day.

Woot! Stuff!

Today is going to be fun! I get stuff today! This may not seem exciting to you, but for me it is. I get my new phone today, my nook, the laptop, and various other small things.
So to help explain I'll give some back story. Sorry they won't be an epic tale. My phone was the only victim of the Great Bedroom Flood of 2001. As cool as that sounds, it was only a busted pipe. I just like giving things cool sounding names. As for the other stuff, they are finally retuning to me from Afghanistan. As previously stated, I am an army wife. So when my husband *or hub man* was in Afghanistan I let him take my beloved nook *might I also add that this was purchased as my birthday gift... granted it was bought roughly four months early* When he broke his leg he came home early and all of is stuff stayed behind.  ~this ends the back story portion of this post~
Yep, that's bout it. Not much happen out in Fort Drum. It's nice and quiet and driving me insane. I might start doodling. That way when my future reads look back they will have something to look at.

10 Things I like about myself.

Hello! If you are reading this then you are awesome! I thought a good way to start would be a list of things about me. So I thought I would challenge myself and make it things I like about me. How is it a challenge? I'm a women. I don't like much about me.

1. I have a unnatural fondness of lists. That is why I started with a list.
2. I love the word kiddo. I think it's the coolest word ever.
3. I have a HUGE family.
4. I can talk to strangers with relative ease.
5. I do not smoke.
6. I can find joy in simple things. *more commonly known as easily amused*
7. My whitest is the same as my husband at his tannest.
8. I sound like a chipmunk when I'm excited about something.
9. I can bake like a mad genius.
10. I watch anime. *side note: anime and cartoons are not the same*

::an hour later:: Hurray! The list is done! Now for some general stuff about me. I'm a super awesome army wife with 2 cats. I have a background in the culinary arts (baking only but I can cook). I'm a cancer, for those who care. I'm also terrible at talking about myself. Right now I'm living the good life at Fort Drum, but come July I will be moving to Fort Bliss in El Paso. This blog will be my way of sharing my life as an army wife. *spoiler alert* it's most likely nothing like the show* However if you stick around and look past my spelling and grammar fails. I'm sure you will enjoy reading this. Well I hope you will.
